MEAD LANE BRIDPORT
A community-led affordable co-housing project and one of the largest co-housing schemes in the country, Mead Lane will deliver 53 new homes constructed to achieve the AECB Building Standard targeting a 70% reduction in Co2 emissions. Meeting the AECB Building Standard will deliver high-performance homes using widely available technology to reduce overall CO2 emissions.
Using a fabric first methodology the homes make the most of passive and low-energy design with triple glazing, MVHR ventilation, air-source heat pumps for hot water, and, a site-wide community ESCO generating low-cost electricity via PV arrays. The result will be sustainable low energy, low carbon homes with high levels of airtightness offering a significant running cost advantage to the future residents as well as making a meaningful and positive contribution to human and planetary health.
