Roundhill Gardens, Radstock
The Welling team have recently completed the final handovers at Roundhill Gardens. The scheme comprised 26 dwellings for Social Rent and Shared Ownership Tenure and was developed on a brownfield site on the outskirts of Radstock town.
Welling was appointed by Sovereign Housing Association to act as their Employer’s Agent, Principal Designer and Clerk of Works, supporting them by providing pre-acquisition due diligence including financial and procurement advice on the negotiation of a Land and Build Package deal with EG Carter and Company, the Contractor.
The project demonstrated many constraints including the incorporation of an ecological buffer, site remediation and extensive S.278 works providing a new pedestrian footpath into the Radstock town centre. Each constraint required careful risk management as a project team.
The delivery of the site also presented opportunities to support both Sovereign and EG Carter prepare for the pending introduction of the Future Homes Standard through the piloting of two dwellings with enhanced fabric performance.
