Last week was a busy week of CPD for the Welling team, sharing knowledge as well as learning from industry experts on the sector’s current hot topics.
On Monday Sam Russo, Partner at Welling Partnership LLP, was a guest speaker at Capsticks LLP Housing Dipolma (endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Housing) explaining the role of the Employer’s Agent and the value of obtaining construction advice early in the development process.
On Tuesday, the members of the Welling team attended an online CPD session presented by Knauf Insulation UK & Ireland enhancing our technical knowledge and understanding of the Fire Classification System and the importance of material selection as part of effective fire strategies.
Finally, on Thursday, we hosted our annual technical training conference which brings together staff from all our offices. This year we welcomed Wilton Thomas from Capsticks LLP who provided a legal update on Building Safety Legislation.
This was supplemented by a presentation from Andy Thompson at Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt Ltd explaining their approach to demonstrating competency as Building Regulations Principal Designer and how they administer this role. Thank you also to Tom Wildbore who provided an update on the pending Future Homes Standard and Net Zero.
Continuing the theme of sustainability, we welcomed Jerry Gorman and Gulam Hussein Seedat from NIBE who presented a detailed topic on heat pumps and their application in a variety of designs.
