We’re thrilled to introduce Khadija, our talented Graduate Employer’s Agent based in our London office – who has just celebrated her one year anniversary with us!
After completing a degree in Quantity Surveying at Reading Uni in 2023, Khadija hit the ground running with us last summer. Khadija plays a pivotal role in administering client projects and overseeing smooth delivery between clients and contractors.
Currently, Khadija’s juggling three exciting projects – including a recent start on a major development in Linmere, near Luton. When not on-site, you’ll find Khadija hitting the gym, baking up Bento cake masterpieces, or planning her next travel adventure.

Describe your role and background?
I work as an Employer’s Agent based out of our offices in Brentford, London. I completed my degree as a Quantity Surveyor at Reading University in 2023 and joined Welling straight after graduating last summer.
I work in a small team. We administer a project on behalf of a client and act as the consultant for the delivery of the project. As an employer’s agent, our role sits between the client and the contractor, representing their interests throughout a building contract.
What projects are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on three different projects. These include two smaller projects which I’ve been involved with straight after uni and already nearing completion – Stanbury House in Reading for our client Silva Homes and St Edmonds House in Maidenhead for our client Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead council. The third I’ve just started working on is a really big project in Linmere, near Luton. It’s a whole town for our client bpha (a Housing Association located in the Oxford to Cambridge arc) and I’m really excited to be involved as this is a major development for the area.
What is one valuable thing you’ve learned in your career so far?
Always check the contract! Never assume and always read the small print. Every contract is different.
What was your previous job?
I was a Manager at a gym. I did this for a year alongside studying at university.
I still go to the gym every day after work. I like doing weight training and cardio to keep me fit and strong.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A landlord or in property management. I’ve always been interested in property, but more so to buy and rent. Lots of my family currently do it, so I’ve grown up watching this.
Would you rather be able to fly, or breathe underwater?
Fly – I like travelling, so anything to easily get me abroad would be great!
What is your guilty pleasure?
Scrolling through TikTok and Instagram. It’s my go-to in the evenings, after the gym or in my spare time!
What are your personal hobbies?
I bake Bento cakes* – it’s a hobby for the weekends. For example, this weekend I’m making lemon cakes for a customer. I just opened my page on Instagram @kadzkreations. I’ve always been into baking, but up until now it’s purely been for friends & family. Through word of mouth I’m now running it as a small business on the side.
*Bento cakes literally translates to ‘small single-serving cakes’ that’s usually packaged in a bento box, or lunch box. The word “bento” comes from the Japanese word for lunch box.
What is the best place you’ve ever travelled/visited?
I’ve been to Morocco and Turkey. I like the heat! I’m off to Egypt next. I like activities so I will be snorkelling, horse riding, camel riding and quad biking. I like to push myself, try new things, even if they are out of my comfort zone.
Name one thing on your bucket list.
I’d like to visit all the countries that I can – Maldives, Dubai, Thailand, Qatar.
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
My phone! How can I scroll through TikTok and Instagram without it?!
