INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY EXETER

Designed as an extension to the existing Business School of Innovation at the University of Exeter the new facility houses the South West Institute of Technology and  provides two learning spaces consisting of computer laboratories and an Artificial Intelligence Arena.

The building is cut into the adjacent natural landscape and has a roof providing a wildflower green roof and an extensive array of photovoltaic panels. The building achieves a BREEAM Excellent rating.

The project formed part of the Government funded initiative to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in higher education courses. The new facility forms a pillar in the strategic effort to address regional disparity impacting UK productivity by enabling the South West to play a key part in Britain’s technology powered renaissance and new global leadership ambitions.
