MMC Residential Development

Back to Archive

BEECH LANE NORMANDY, GUILDFORD

A Category 1 (Volumetric) development to provide 12 houses and 4 maisonettes. The newly built residential development in Guildford utilises house types from Rollalong’s standard pattern book of properties. Comprising a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bed properties across a mix of tenures, this development demonstrates a great example of the deployment of modular construction as an infill development.

As part of our service, Welling provided technical due diligence during the pre-contract stages focusing on the proposed form of MMC (cold-rolled steel), assessing compliance to our client’s technical standards as well as industry quality marks including BOPAS and NHBC Accepts. A key focus of our service focused on managing development risk associated with MMC projects, particularly around commercial terms. Once on site, Welling administered the Development Agreement, undertaking factory visits, and monitoring the quality of the units under construction.
